Dr. Hearing's patients, young and old,
have received extensive and repeated media attention. The
recipients of Jordy and Ocutech's self-focusing vision
enhancers have been featured in print and electronic media.

LeVar Burton (right), and friends demonstrate the Jordy
vision aid at the University of West Virginia. Star Trek:
The Next Generation fans remember him as the blind
engineer Geordi La Forge who is able to see with the aid
of his visor. Enhanced Vision Systems adopted the name
Jordy for their product. This occasion was the inaugural
of the LeVar Burton Vision Enhancement Technology
Center. Dr. Hearing is one of the founders of the Center.
